Sentier Des Cimes Laurentides observation tower

In this blog post, I am going to share with you a little bit about the Sentier Des Cimes Laurentides I just visited. It’s an absolutely stunning panoramic observation tower near Mont Tremblant in Quebec.

What is Sentier Des Cimes Laurentides?

Sentier Des Cimes Laurentides translates to English as Laurentian Peaks Trail. This place used to be a fish farm in Saint-Faustin-Lac-CarrΓ©, but now it’s this fantastic ecotourism destination that’s perfect for families, seniors, and anyone who’s into nature.

So, there’s this trail that stretches for almost a kilometer, and it winds its way through the forest. It’s a pretty easy walk, and at the end of it, there’s this massive 40-meter-high observation tower.

The view from the tower is amazing – a full 360-degree panorama of the surrounding landscapes, with Mont-Blanc and Mont-Tremblant stealing the show. Below is a summary of its characteristics:

  • Total length: 1,350 meters
  • Tower height: 40 meters
  • Walkway height: up to 18 meters
  • Maximum slope: 6%

How much does the ticket cost?

The entrance to the park is free, but there is a charge to enter the observation tower.

The road to Sentier Des Cimes Laurentides is of a pretty good quality. It is also scenery. There are several places on the road where you go through rocks, as in the photo above. I love rocky hills and mountains πŸ™‚.

About Sentier Des Cimes Laurentides in Photos

There’s just so much I want to tell you about Sentier des Cimes Laurentides that I could go on forever. But you know what they say: a picture is worth a thousand words, right? So, instead of a lengthy blog post, I’ve decided to let my photos do the talking. Trust me; they’ll capture the magic way better than words ever could. πŸ™‚.

Parking

Parking at Sentier Des Cimes Laurentides
There are several large to small size parking places. And the good news is that staff members direct you to a parking place that still has spots. So you do not drive in circles for an hour looking for a spot to park.

Once you park your car, you will go through a very nice park. There are several playgrounds that are good for kids of different ages. This is good because your kids can have fun while you rest at the picnic table πŸ™‚.

Ticketing Office

On the way to an observation tower, you will pass through a ticketing office. It is a beautiful building with a Chez Emile restaurant on the first floor and a souvenir store on the second floor.

As you start your journey, you’ll come across a smaller tower, and no, it’s not an observation tower πŸ™‚.
This tower is actually an elevator that will whisk you up to the main trail, high above the treetops. Now, the choice is yours on how you want to ascend – you can take a stairway or opt for the convenience of the elevator.

As you make your way to the panoramic tower, watch for various informative stands and intriguing installations along the path. Here’s one that caught my attention – it’s stocked with seeds, a delightful treat for our feathered friends.

The construction is pretty solid. The walkways are wooden, but the pillars are enhanced with a solid metalπŸ’ͺ. There is a net all around the walkway to keep you safe.

As you ascend the tower, the view becomes increasingly stunning. By the way, the walkway is designed to be wheelchair accessible, making it easy for everyone to enjoy.
I absolutely adore visiting this place during the Golden autumn season. The array of colours in the trees makes the view exceptionally beautiful. Do you see that wooden walkway in the distance? That’s the path leading you to the observation tower.

At the top of the observation tower, people rest and take many photos πŸ™‚. The floor is made of a net. Seems to be pretty durable πŸ™‚.

Chez Emile restaurant

On the first floor of the ticketing office is a Chez Emile restaurant.

If you sit outside, there is live music! πŸ™‚ I have now been to Chez Emile restaurant more than one time and every time I come, there is live music 🎻

The restaurant is pretty clean and nicely organized inside. They also serve tea and coffee.

It is good that they have a few tables inside. I prefer to sit outside where the live music is, but sitting inside on a windy or rainy day can also be a good option.

Final words

In wrapping up this blog post, you’ve probably noticed that I relied heavily on photos. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and I hope these visuals have conveyed the magic of Sentier des Cimes Laurentides to you.

However, let me tell you, nothing truly compares to experiencing it in person. If you ever get the chance, I wholeheartedly recommend paying a visit to Sentier des Cimes Laurentides. And if you’re a fan of vibrant fall colours, make sure to plan your trip during the golden season in autumn – it’s an experience like no other.
